Michael Branigan
Born and raised in the Ohio River Valley, Michael came to Chicago to attend the University of Illinois at Chicago on a gymnastics scholarship. For the next four years, Michael split his time between the studios of UIC’s celebrated School of Art and Design and the gymnasium. Shortly after graduating, Michael attended the Yale Summer Program in Graphic Design, Brissago, Switzerland. Upon returning to Chicago, Michael landed a gig as a designer at a nameless corporate design factory, became disillusioned, said goodbye, and went on to found Sandbox.
Michael’s strengths lie in his tireless work ethic, his exhaustive research efforts, and his unwavering attention to detail. Michael’s weaknesses are clear mornings on the lake, the tug of his familial ties, and whatever his wife tells him to do.
