ICFA Beacons of Discovery

Beacons of Discovery

The International Committee for Future Accelerators (ICFA) recently published a vision for the global science of particle physics in their report, “Beacons of Discovery.” The report states what particle physicists know about the universe, what questions remain, and what tools physicists plan on using to answer those remaining questions. “Beacons of Discovery” also provides readers with numerous examples of the benefits to society particle physics has made, as well as the benefits its science hopes to provide in the future.

Sandbox has long been involved in helping the worldwide particle physics community communicate their missions, goals, discoveries, and visions for the future. So in collaboration with interactions.org, a central resource for communicators of particle physics with representatives from 19 laboratories across the globe, Sandbox designed and produced ICFA’s “Beacons of Discovery” report which was released at the 10th ICFA Seminar on Future Perspectives in High-Energy Physics 2011, October 3–6, at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.
