UCLA ’s Basic Plasma Science Facility (BaPSF) is expanding the frontiers of plasma science. A defining characteristic of BaPSF is that it hosts the largest linear magnetized plasma device in the world, the Large Plasma Device (LAPD). The LAPD is a flexible and low maintenance device for studying a variety of waves and nonlinear effects in fully magnetized plasmas.
The longitudinal motion and rotation of plasmas inspired the creation of this identity that communicates the dynamism of this US national collaborative research facility for fundamental plasma physics.
